Founded in 2020 by Mlela Matandara-Clarke and Deon Clarke, MatandaraClarke Architects is a Jamaican-registered architectural firm with a global outlook and over 20 years of professional experience.
With design experience spanning Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad, the UK, Singapore, and New Zealand, the firm brings cultural sensitivity, climate-conscious design, and a passion for innovation to every project.
Our expertise lies in the design of residential, commercial and leisure with a special focus on resorts and large scale masterplanning of lifestyle and business developments.
We can also prepare feasibility and capacity studies for investor packages and clients with undeveloped or underdeveloped assets.
Our projects are imbued with a fusion of internal and external spatial design.
Our collaborative approach creates a truly integrated and holistically resolved product. All of our work is undertaken using Building Information Modelling (BIM) which enhances coordination of all aspects of the design. This leaves more time for creativity with less time and money spent on resolving issues later on in the process.

The directors have a wealth of experience in the hotel sector. We designed Diamond resorts for Half Moon, Goldeneye and hotel operators Rosewood, Marriott, Four Seasons, Intercontinental amongst other bespoke villas and residences internationally.

Mlela Matandara-Clarke incorporates a strong design philosophy with a strategic approach to her projects. She is a registered Caribbean architect with over twenty years experience in the industry. She has worked with world-reknowned international architectural practices in the UK, Europe, Singapore and the Caribbean.
A specialist BIM expert and experiential designer extensive experience in hotel, resort, mixed -use, retail, residential, commercial and Urban design.
She brings creative energy and enthusiasm along with her excellent business sense and project management skills to assist you to achieve the true potential of your project.
DEON CLARKE

Deon Clarke is a Jamaican trained architectural professional with over 25 years experience in the industry. His niche skills as a masterplanner and forward thinker means he sees the overarching details in every project. Deon has a huge focus on design detail and production. He drives the studio culture and adds a positive energy to the office.
A specialist urban, landscape and interior designer Deon is a master sketcher and generates the concept packages and production packages for the projects across the Group.
With experience gained in Singapore, UK, New Zealand and Jamaica with both public and private sector he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to each project.
